Employee Screening Tests and HR Solutions

Every business wants qualified and trustworthy employees. As a result, companies conduct employee screening tests to confirm the authenticity of a person applying for a job. When hiring new employees, background checks are essential. More specifically, a pre-employment assessment test and background checks are used by many companies before they even consider hiring someone. The screening process for a potential employee will give you the appropriate information you need to see if they are the right fit for you and your company. HR needs to be aware of the legality, reliability, and accuracy of the employee screening tests and also of new developing trends. These tests are designed to measure intellect, characteristics, personality, and skills that provide a score and rating of the abilities and skills of an individual.


Types of Employee Screening Test

 A business organization that hires good employees tends to have higher productivity than from an organization with poor hiring ability. The hiring of wrong people often leads to having a negative impact on companies management and employees morale. Employees screening services help the management to choose the best candidate who fits perfectly with the organization. These tests should be monitored and selected with care, as an employee can challenge the organization based on the violation of any state or federal law.


  • Cognitive Tests: Cognitive tests are done to check the intelligence of the candidate. Generally, measuring general mental ability and IQ tests comes under cognitive ability tests. Other than this, Reasoning, math skills, spatial perception, and gauge verbal test are advance level cognitive ability tests. These tests are counted among the most accurate test for physiological assessments. Cognitive ability test helps to predict the performance of the candidate applying for the job. It also predicts how well they will sustain, observe acquire, and organize the information in the workplace.
  • Aptitude Tests: Aptitude tests are most commonly used in employee screening process as a pre-employment screening test tool for determining candidates competencies. Whether it is a reasoning, verbal, non-verbal or numeric tests, an aptitude test is ruling over the recruitment process from decades now. These are the entry level test for clerical or technical jobs. Accuracy and speed tests are build to check the correctness of the placements of words, numbers or objects. These tests are used to basically check the candidate’s abilities to learn new skills.
  • Physical ability tests: Physical ability tests typically ask the candidate to perform certain job-related tasks to measure the strength, stamina, and muscular flexibility. There are various factors that can be taken into consideration before taking physical ability tests. Selection based on these test is complex in nature as there is no validity for the assessment criteria of these test justifying the job relatedness.
  • Personality tests: These are assessment test for an individual personality by using some techniques. Personality test tells the accuracy and consistency of an individual's personality. Some people say these tests are irrelevant and not related to job performance, but many employers use them very frequently to determine a few characteristics like interests, interpersonal relations, and attitude.
  • Integrity and Honesty Tests: Integrity and honesty tests check the proclivity of an individual towards the unkind behaviour like stealing, lying, bullying, and etc. It is a special type of personality test. This test is done to verify a candidate's necessary qualities of independence. The integrity of an employee is a valid measure of the overall performance.
  • Medical Tests: Medical test at a workplace is a risk management tool to screen the employees to measure the risk factor that may in the future limit the ability of the performance. A good organization takes responsibilities of taking care of its employees by periodic health check-ups. These organizations follow a few pre-employment assessment tests for medical assessment called medical employee screening tests.
  • HR Solutions: Human resource department is the core element of an organization. It should efficiently focus on the development of the company's objective and employee's wellness. The prime focus of the human resource department should be the management of the employees. This starts with the selection and recruitment of the staff. How they train them and give them feedback and appraisals are the secondary parts. Using IT software to manage all this is useful for an organization. HR solutions are pre-designed tools used in the process of management of the company by the human resource department
